What are peptides?

Amino acids, peptides and proteins explained without the jargon.

The basic building blocks

Peptides are short chains of amino acids joined by peptide bonds. The sequence matters: two peptides can have very different properties even when their names or packaging look similar.

One category does not mean one benefit

Peptide is a description of molecular structure, not a promise of weight loss, tissue repair or anti-aging. Evidence needs to be checked for the exact molecule, formulation and purpose.

Not everything in a peptide catalog is a peptide

A catalog can also include vitamins, coenzymes, small molecules and preparation materials. Read the product identity rather than assuming every listing has the same chemistry or use.
