What does 99% purity actually tell you?

Understand why purity, identity, sterility and endotoxin testing answer different questions.

A percentage needs a method

A purity claim should be tied to a sample, batch, test method and result. A target specification is not the same as a completed batch test.

Identity is a separate question

Analytical techniques such as mass spectrometry help characterize molecular identity. A purity number alone does not establish that a vial contains the intended molecule or the labeled amount.

Purity is not a safety certificate

Sterility and bacterial endotoxins require distinct assessment. High chemical purity does not by itself establish suitability for injection or demonstrate a clinical benefit.
